This weekends travel took me across town to the Silver Unicorn Bookstore in Acton, MA in my hometown!
I completed the FIRST EVER Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt for The LOOK Book. I will admit since it was my first time I was a little nervous, but with the support I received from friends, family, family friends (Aunt Connie) and Paul the owner of The Silver Unicorn I was able to relax and enjoy the experience.
The children and their parents were such fun! Everyone enjoyed meeting Hunter the Owl who assisted in the Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt. He was dressed in his finest with vest, cowboy hat, Boston t-shirt and hat and scarf. He patiently waited on the shelves to be found. Because after all his favorite phrase is “Found it.”
Each of the children who participated received a prize when they turned in the Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt form
and were entered into a drawing to take a Hunter home. We did the drawing at the end of the hour. I have to admit I always find this hard to do because only one child wins. I know this is part of life but I always want to give everyone a Hunter because after all who doesn’t LOVE Hunter the Owl!

I really enjoyed the children since teaching kindergarten is were this all began! As I read each of the returned scavenger hunt forms it brought me back to my teaching days.
Stay tuned for next week as I travel to Illinois preparing for the next LOOK Book!
