OMG! Has it really only been 4 days????
Cincinnati, Ohio to Boot City to Casey, Illinois.Day 3:
We picked the perfect location for a short stopover in Cincinnati between the Reds stadium and the riverwalk. I booked it as we were driving through hotels.com assuming it was a hotel we found it, parked and went inside but found the doors locked and no way to get in. They had to do a background check before we were sent codes to access the apartment and parking! I had received a text asking for my license but never having done this before I was not sure but sitting by a locked door with no place to sleep I sent a picture of my license and a selfie of me as they had requested. Weird!
After we received the codes via text and saw the apartment I realized I did well on this accommodation and patted myself on the back:) Off to explore.

Day 4:
Boot City you ask?? Yep…There were so many billboards enticing us to visit…we did! Isn’t this the point of driving? Stopping and seeing the sights?
We both decided we want to get our boots in Texas. Isn’t this where you are supposed to buy cowboy boots?

Victoria’s question…why is there a random yellow Cadillac parked under the sign? I just had to take a picture…Oh my the things we will see!

Back on the highway, we head to Casey, Illinois.
The  Big Reveal.. what is in Casey, Illinois? Big Things!
Big Things Small Town” is their motto.
Check out my reaction…

While wandering around town I had a wonderful time meeting the shop owners and learning the history of how Casey reinvented itself as a tourist destination after the factories shut down, thanks to Jim Bolin who created and funded this venture and thinking outside the box to save his town.
Victoria was a good sport getting into the bird cage.
Hunter was cooperative and put up with my antics too:)
