Feb. 15, 2021

Presidents Day 2021, also known as Washington’s Birthday, is today, Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. It is a day dedicated to celebrating all U.S. presidents, past and present. The holiday was originally established in 1885 to celebrate President George Washington’s birthday after his death.

Today I would like to celebrate by sharing the PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE using an Augmented Reality App created for the JFK Library in Boston but the app can also be used at home as a fun activity AND learning tool.

A little about AR or Augmented Reality before introducing JFK Moonshot. You do need to use the camera on your phone or IPad to create the experience. When I first began exploring how to bring our mascot Hunter the Owl to life I was confused about the difference between AR/Augmented Reality and VR/Virtual Reality so don’t be embarrassed if you are also confused.

Here is a quick tutorial:

Augmented reality (AR) adds digital elements to a live view by using the camera on a smartphone or IPad.

Virtual reality (VR) implies a complete immersion experience that shuts out the physical world using a specific device, not your phone or iPad. Usually, a headset with a visual component.

Now onto the AR/Augmented Reality App the JFK Moonshot is an epic re-creation of the Apollo 11 mission and includes a great deal of content about JFK. A perfect fun learning tool. Take a LOOK at the link below.

JFK and the Apollo 11 mission is the past, today Feb 15, 2021, is the present, and Augmented Reality is the future!

Hunter the Owl wants to be a part of that future and has chosen AR/Augmented Reality as his voice to connect the past, present, and future. Take a LOOK: It is FREE!! https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hunter-is-here/id1524163680
