It is Monday…must be BLOG DAY!!
Day 32: Oh man…hard to get up this morning…11 hour plus drive today to San Antonio…and an hour time change…getting closer to home!!!Day 33: San Antonio was HOT and HUMID!!! The Alamo was interesting but I have to admit a little smaller than I was expecting. I think I built the size up in my head based on its historic value.

After touring The Alamo we headed off to the River Walk. A very interesting and amazing creation begun in 1929 with a proposal from Robert H. Hugman for a bypass channel and water structures to create pools of water. You could walk on either side of the man-made river, enjoy lunch or shopping. May I just emphasize how HOT and HUMID it was but…I still insisted we take a boat cruise to check out the sites. Not a mistake but…VERY HOT!!!

After lunch and a margarita, we headed off to buy cowboy boots…but I hit a wall of exhaustion. Decided buying boots was not going to happen. I had the vision of me passing out with cowboy boots on and being rolled out of the store on a stretcher with Victoria in tow trying to pull off the boots. HAHAHAHHA  This vision made me realize I needed rest!!! We headed back to the hotel and caught up on the Bachelorette (Did Luke get a rose?)

Day 34: Up early and off to Waco, Texas to meet Chip and Joanna Gaines or at least taste a piece of TV history. We started with the Silos Baking Co. YUMMY!!!! Then off for a little shopping at Magnolia Market. I wasn’t sure if this part of the trip would be worth the effort but…it was!! I really enjoyed the yummy tasty treats and seeing what these two people have created in their home town was inspiring!!!
A moment in Texas…I was amazed by the windmill farms!

Check out is 11:00 and we are off to spend the 4th in Tallahassee, Florida.
Day 36: Up REALLY EARLY to drive to St. Augustine, Florida to visit Laura Douglass, my sons girlfriend. We arrived at her office about 10:30 ready to explore and get a personal tour of the oldest city in America. Starting with her new office!!! We have basically one day to take photos and do research to complete The LOOK Book, St. Augustine. Luckily Laura Douglass is the Collections Coordinator for the University of Florida in St. Augustine and can give us a complete a thorough history efficiently. This allowed time for a delicious lunch, chocolate tour, winery tour AND sangria on a rooftop deck. This is how every day should have been planned on our trip!
We finished our day with pizza and catching up on the Bachelorette. Leaving us with the question…why did Luke get a rose???

Day 37: Another early day…the destination UNIVERSAL, specifically Harry Potter World. Laura Douglass came along too making it much more fun, especially for Victoria. Girls trip!!! WOOHOO!!!! Stay tuned for stories of the hitchhikers we pick up along the way…life is to be shared!
